I own a 460 1994 Bounder. I have experinced loss of power, moves in idle. After setting for some time it will run again, then the same thing happens again. Any suggestions.

I'm driving a 1988 F250 with 460 engine. All original. I need to find the engine number on it. Where on the engine (-block) can I find that number?
Anybody got an idea?
Bought 1999 Fleetwood tioga 22ft. Ford E 35 Super duty triton V8 on cab. They told me it was a V8 460. Would easily pull 22ft boat fully loaded.
It is actually a 351. How do I find difference in value of engines and should I be pulling a 22ft boat fully loaded. They've already deducted for telling me it was a yr 2000 and paid towards brake job.
I own a 1993 fleetwood and had the some problem, you need to change your fuel filter. it is located on the drivers side frame rail. it requires a special tool that any auto parts store should have.
I keep a spare filter in my motorhome just incase.
here is a little advice never let the fuel get below a 1/4 a tank. the fuel pump is notoris for going out on this motor. by keeping fuel in the tank it keeps the pump from overheating and going out. if your filter keeps stopping up be prepared the replace the fuel pump. I had to replace mine at 42,000 miles on the side of the road.
I now replace the fuel filter every time I change the oil, its cheap insurance.

I bought amotor on ebay a short block 460 the casting numbers are D1VE on the block I beleave making it a 71, on the rods C9AE making it a 69 and those are the only numbers I can find. What I'am trying to find out is what balancer,and flywheel I need to run is it internal or external balanced if you could call me I'd like to chat -561-202-4241 sincerely Donald Sniff
It sounds like a heating problem,possibly the computer gets overloaded and won't complete a cycle in the system such as "lean or rich" fuel to your engine.
I have had this problem before and a computer will remedy it.
I have a 1990 460bb in a 35 Malibu by Cobra. Starter soliniod went out so I was starting with a screwdriver, got tired of that so replaced soilinoid, not it cranks but wont fire. Checked spark off coil and I get a good solid spark, a wimpy half spark then nothing till i stop cranking and try again, then same thing. I tried putting back on the old solinoid and same thing, any idea's? thanx
Rv Ford 460 1989 Starter continues to crank and can not shut off until I disconnect Batt. Starter sw. can be in any position.. will run engine but starter continues to hang in crank mode.... until disconnecting Batt+... replaced relay and cleaned steering colum sw. worked ok for a while. very frustrating... I have a 89 Ford Tioga 460engine. Recently when attempting to fill the gas tank, gas is constantly overflowing out and the nozzle will continually shut off when fueling even though the tank is not full. This is happening at various gas stations,point, dont think the problem is highpressure volume gas pumps.
Brakes are funky you have to pump them and they still feel like there are very little of them. full of brake fluid. how many quarts of motor oil does this engine take?

I had the same problem... The ignition module, which should be on the distributor but its behind the battery in the drivers fender well. That module tends to overheat when it's really hot, 90ish... I replaced that part & also installed a fan to help cool it..
Hi i have a 89 tioga arrow rv 27' with the 460 motor sitting on the E350 chassis. my cat went and i have no power at all. which cat do i need? one for the 460 engine or will a universal fit on the E 350 chassis? and where can i find one of these. thanks alot mike
Idle is fine, will not rev past 1/4 THROTTLE. no check engine light acts like a governor, will die out on continous revving. changed fuel filter, no effect
Does a 1986 honey motorhome have a electronic fuel pump in the gas tank?
e350 460 motor.i changed the inline fuel filter, iam still not getting any gas to the carb, i will check the fuel pump relay next and then change the small filter in the carb my question is, being an 86 is the fuel pump electric?
Wire from Converter to Battery burned up
melting its insulation and fusing other
wires in bundle. Need to hot wire one (in tank) fuel pump so I can get to mechanic

t.b fuel enjection.
after heating up it starts runing rich
and black smoke comes from the tail pipe at idle.all wires and plugs replaced what is likely problem.

up then it seems to run ok I just had the catalict converter go out. would the Idel problem cause it we change OC
senser at the same time wechanged cat. but it still idels rough
