When the generator is on, it seems as though the 12 volt side is cutting out. All appliances, electrical outlets, TV's etc work, but everything that is powered by 12 volt reverts back to battery power. Comes and goes, sometimes longer than others. Checked all wiring to the transfer switch, and it all appears to be fine. Any suggestions?
With out generator, RV and converter (the 12 power supply) make and model info anyone would be guessing. As I like guessing the unit may be trying to run the 12 volt off the generators 12 supply and that is the issue. The converter may be protecting itself from the generator (over voltage, under voltage or "dirty power") Or your generator may only be providing 1 "leg" of 110 voltage and the converter is wired to the other side and finally we see several converters a year that over heat due to fan failure and go into protective shut down.... So find out what the 110 v supply is to the converter at the converter and go from there. Good Luck
