I had one of those. Its been a long time since I've owned it but it did the same thing. On my car I had to replace the part under the hood on top of the heater box (passenger side) its held in with 2 -7mm hex head screws and also has a heavy black ground wire fastened to the firewall area. There is a harness plugged into it. take it off and go to a salvage yard and get a used one. New ones are high (I know). I think its a dealer item only. Thats what fixed mine.
