I have a 2002 ford ranger xlt 4x4 with the 4.0 in it. yesterday my heater started making a rattling noise. any ideas on what component may be causing the noise? and will i be able to fix it myself?
A rattle when the fan is going is typically something caught in the fan blades and is pretty easy to fix; Just pull the blower motor out and clean the fan blades.
Any more detail you can share about where the rattle sounds like it's coming from or when you hear it? (Fan on or off, switching from heat to defrost, etc.)
