I took to Mech for leak and he replaced oil pan gasket. Ran for 2 hours and would not restart. I removed air filter and it was socked with oil. Why? Where did oil come from?

Sounds like too much oil in engine

Sounds like the reed valve in the valve cover is broken or the gasket is broken. this reed valve the for the pcv. vents the excess pressure from the crank case and blows it back in to the carb/air filter. If the reed valve is broken or the gasket is broken then the engine oil will blow back in to the air filter. good luck. ps you got ripped. there is no oil pan gasket in and onan gen. sorry.
