DUO-Therm 65920-056 shuts off after furnas comes on Jim in Virginia 10-14-08
DUO-Therm 65920-056 shuts off after furnas comes on. Pilot works fine, thermostat appears ok, blower appears to be doing it's thing. when the burner flames up, runs for about 30 seconds and then the control valve clicks and the flame from the burner cuts out.
Where do I start? help in Va.
Jim

Im not an RV tech but have had a similar problems with RV's and a mobile home. I am assuming that the pilot stays lit, if not then the pilot orifice needs to be cleaned in order to strengthen the flame and maintain millivoltage during the main burn. If the pilot stays lit you need to look at the thermal fan switch and it's mount. This switch delays the fan startup until there is heat available to circulate, but sometimes the fan force cools this switch sufficiently to trick it into thinking the burner has not yet heated. Does it cycle back on for that short 30 second burn after some delay? Thats a fan switch for sure.
