My two way dometic fridge has a problem that i need help with. i have been having the check light come on and i don't know what to check. this weekend,the freezer and fridge both worked fine for three days,then the chk.light came on and the fridge stopped cooling,the freezer was fine.i turned the unit off and on for a couple of min. and it started working again. i have had this problem every time we go camping.any help will be appreciated.
There is several things that can cause the check light to come on. One of the biggest is voltage. Dometic refers are very tempermantal to low batterys. you may not think its low but the refer dose. 2. The thermal coupler could not be detecting the flame in the burrner as well as it did. 3. If you were on a/c (ie coach pluged in) the colrol board could have failed to turn on the heating element. Keep in mind the refer uses 6 to 9 amps of battery power on gas to keep the gas valve open and all of the electronics running. This can kill a battery is a couple of days.
