My father-in-law has a 1994 Ford Aerostar, 3.0 Litre V-6. It will not shift into overdrive at all. He hasn't tried anything to fix it yet. Any ideas?? Please help!
Test to see if the OD light toggles on and off and then pull the switch for the OD out of the shift lever and test it for continuity if the light doesn't toggle. I've replaced a bunch of these switches.
EEC4 will test for the OD being engaged by cycling the OD switch and will set a code if the fuel computer doesn't see the switch cycle on and off during a test (Key On, Engine Running or KOER).
