I would like to replace the exhaust system on my 1998 Chev truck (V8) with a larger diameter pipe. I am told this could increase the MPG I am getting. I tow a 5th wheel. Has anyone else done this? If so, was it worth it? How much increase im MPG can one expect. With the price of gas now, a small increase of 2 MPG can save at least $1,500 per year,
Yeah, exhaust replacement is a very common upgrade for various reasons; performace and economy OR both. It's not only size of tubing, but also type of bends, and muffler designs that affect thr performance of an exhaust system. There are various companies who offer systems for your truck.
