454 engine backfiring by Gary
Post New Message We have a 1989 Allegro motorhome with a 1988 Chevy 454 engine. It backfires on the passenger side only and the exhaust pipes turned red from the heat. It has 2 smog pumps on it. Just rebuilt the carb (float was sticking), replaced spark plugs, fuel filter, has new alternator, battery tested out fine. Any suggestions??
