I am trying to find a Carburetor that will fit 1976 American Clipper Dodge B-300/440 engine. It needs to comply with California emission contols. Our mechanic is telling us there is not one available after market that will comply with the emission standards. Does any one know about this?
ART,WHAT DID CA.REQUIRE IN 76 ON TRUCK CHASSIS? I KNOW CA. WAS AHEAD OF THE NATION ON EMISSIONS ON LIGHT TRUCKS & CARS BUT I DIDN'T THINK THAT THE TRUCK CHASSIS WERE AS STRICT IN 76. NONE OF THE CARBS I FOUND LISTED FOR YOUR CHASSIS MENTION THAT THEY WILL NOT PASS IN CA. UNLESS THE LAW CHANGED THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO STATE IF THEY ARE NOT FOR ROAD USE.
