I have an 1989 Mallard Overland 36' 460 C6 on a John Deere Chassis.
I feel it is running to warm 220 to 250 on the guage. I had the radiator rodded and replaced the water pump, thermostat and fan clutch. I was taking a potential buyer on a test drive yesterday and it was running warm and I was telling him the water at the top hose was only around 195 so to show him as he was driving I pulled the cover back and shot the hose, it was 196 197 and about 10 seconds later it blew the hose off the intake..... Got it shut down and cooled off. Got water in it and antifreeze and was taking it home, running 40 to 50 it was running 240 to 250, So I am looking at a possible head gasket leak. I plan on doing a compression test tonight and see if I can see something there. I have checked the vacumm advance and it works, I have the timing set @ 10 degrees, (per the directions from the previous owner) The motor was replaced @53K and then new heads install @65K it now has 73K on it.
A friend has said fords have an issue with seeping head gaskets and sometimes you have to retorque the heads.
I need help here please. I am not sure where to look next.
If the head gasket is blowned, it will trow coolant out the filler neck.
Napa has a test kit to diagnose before taking it apart. Make sure the bottom hose is not colapsing at highway speed(should be a stainless wire inside the bottom hose).

HI,
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A 36' 1989 MALLARD OVERLAND MOTOR HOME, IT HAD A FEW PROBLEMS BUT NOT TOO SERIOUS UNTIL NOW. IT ONLY HAS 2700 MILES ON IT AS IT STOOD STILL FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS. THE FRONT WINDOWS APPEARED TO BE LEAKING, UPON FURTHER INSPECTION THEY ARE FALLING OUT. I CALLED A PROFESSIONAL GLASS PERSON AND THEY CAN'T SEEM TO GET THE WINDOWS TO FIT BACK IN. IT SEEMS THAT THE FIBERGLASS BODY HAS ALTERED ITSELF SO THAT THE RUBBER GASKETS AND THE WINDOWS NO LONGER FIT.HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF THIS OR DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?
I'LL BE WAITING FOR YOUR REPLY.

I own a 1990 overland discovey express and it came with all the manuals, the owners manual is just your run of the mill do's and don'ts nothing any good to anyone the appliances all have there own manuals so if any of them are fo any help let me know and I will see about copying some of them for you.
If it is the engine info you are looking for go to a ford dealer and they can help you out. Good Luck.
