I have a 1993 Coronado with a Chevy 454 engine. My temperature gauge does not rise above 100 degrees while running. I understand there is a separate sending unit for the dash gauge that has one lead from it. Can someone tell me where it is and how to test it?
I have a 90' Dolphin motor home w/ 454 eng. The radiator blew out and ever since the temp guage has not worked. Not even sure where the sending unit is located. And when I do locate the block unit is there another one to look for ?

Hi i own a 1992 fleetwood bounder and i had the same trouble. There are 2 senders one on each side of engine i just replaced both last year, i think they were around 15 dollars each good luck, i have never changed my thermosts do you know what temp goes in there, i have had it for 5 years.
1985 Auto Mate Royale 33ft class A Motorhome. I had the same problem with my heating, replaced the radiator and hoses with a 210 thermostat and it does seem to run a little hot. I made some shrouds to close the area from the top of the grill to the radiator bracket and down the sides to direct the air into the radiator not around it. It droped the temp down ten degrees.I am going to run one for the bottom at a later date.
Tehre maybe 2 tenp sensors. one is by the thermosat on the top of motor by the water inlet and one is on the drivers side head between 1 and 3 spark plugs.
I have a 1992 Fleetwood Bounder with a 454/ 7.4 litre engine. I have replaced the water pump, clutch fan and thermostat because my temp runs over 210. It has not overheated but it seems a little high. Any ideas?
Just rebuilt my 454 factory engine and all went back together except I have on bracket about 3" long that has a spacer on one end.I think it has to do with the alignment for my power steering as now when I start the engine, the belt wants to walk off the pulley. It doesn't come all the way off but close. All other brackets are in place and my Chiltons book doesn't have any useful pictures. Thanks for any help.Ron.
Hi Michael,
Thanks for responding. I replaced my thermostat just before this problem started. I was told it was 93 or 94 or 95 degrees, I can't remember which. I replaced the sending unit that feed the computer but didn't find the other one. I will look again.
Thanks, Luther
I have a 1992 Pinnicale RV with a 454 Chevy engine. The temperature gauge barely gets off cool when going up mountains in hot weather. Where will I find the sending unit and is there a specific temperature range I should purchase.
