When you start climbing up grades on a warm day you will hear it come on,and it will even feel like it down shifted.The temp gauge will level out and then start cooling back down where it normally runs.If the radiator has not been flushed in a while(two or three years] it might be time to flush and replace the coolant.Check all hoses and clamps,and any belts for cracking.A pressure test is also a good idea.I like the green Prestone stuff the best.
