Hello,
I just had a set of ceramic coated Thorley headers installed on my 1994 Class A with a ford 460. After picking up the coach and driving down the road there is a loud staccato sound on deceleration. I pulled over and opened the dog house and found that the mechanic that installed this system did not reconnect one of the smog air valve lines and actually welded it closed. After examination of the headers, there is no port for hooking up this valve so I guess the shop thought blocking it off would be no problem. I called the shop which was closed for the day and the mechanic said to bring it in tomorrow that they would splice the air valve line into the charcoal canister line. Is this a viable fix? Doesn't this valve need heated exhaust air?
Thanks for the advice.
