My husband just bought a 1978 Dodge Rv, we went to bring it home and he stated that the high revving will not stop. When he took off from a light it took off he almost lost control, when we start it we have to shut it down because it takes off.

Any hints would help.

Sounds like a stuck throttle? Im not sure.

I have a question. How long is yours? I am looking at a 1979 Dodge Beaver, 28 ft. It seems to take a long time to get to peed, around 45 or 50 MPH. I know its a lot of weight to get moving but does it take a long time to get to speed? Engine sounds strong and seems like it sounds good and strong.

DEBRA..I HAVE THE SAME ENGINE. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME ON THE WAY TO VACATION.
I WAS LUCKY AND FOUND A SHADE TREE THAT KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING.

ALL IT WAS IS THE HOSE FROM THE THE FRONT OF THE CARBORATOR(LARGER HOSE)
THAT RUNS FROM THE BOTTOM FRONT(VACCUMN?)OF THE CARB. HOSE OUT OF THE CARB. GOES TO THE LEFT VALVE COVER AND THE OTHER GOES DOWN SOMEWHERE BEHIND THE ENGINE.
THE HOSE HAD BECOME SEPARATED. ALL HE DID WAS PUT BACK TOGETHER AND PUT A CLAMP ON IT AND WE WERE ON OUR WAY. TOTAL CONTRO; AGAIN. I KNOW HOW YOU 2 FELT.
HE WOULD NOT EVEN CHARGE ME FOR IT.
IT WAS TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL AND LIKE YOU SAID DANGEROUS. NO WAY COULD I HAVE CONTINUED ON THE 1ST DAY OF OUR VAC.
I WAS NEAR CAMPING WORLD AND THEY WOULD NOT EVEN LOOK AT IT. WE WERE STRANDED.
HE SAID IT WOULD BE A COUPLE OF DAYS AND WE HAD TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.
NEEDLESS TO SAY CAMPING WORLD IS NOT LONGER ON MY PLACES TO VISIT.
HOPE THIS HELPS.

BILL,III
