Duane I have an 84 Elandan and had the same problem. I put headers that end in 3 inch collector and ran a 3 inch system all the way to the front of the rear wheels.This helped move the heat down the line more quickly.As well I ran 2x 5 inch alum. flex pipes from the grill over the rad. then down onto each cylinder bank as these units dont ventilate well under the doghouse.
