Just my two cents,change the plug wires and plugs while you at it.On my 86 winnie starts missing under load after 25k miles.On my engine the wires hang out from the holders non supported and flex as you drive down the road.If its the wires it will ping and pop on heavy load.I think they may break inside but usually still look good.I put a after market type wire holder on now but not many miles on them yet.
