I have a 1999 crew cab 454 dually pickup and started to get a miss or slip in it on a hard pull up hill in over drive had trans checked and flushed no problem found but strated happen in drive to, so i installed new fuel filter and checked the plugs and wires the wires and plugs looked good and were replaced at 50,000 miles and the truck only has 74,000 on it now and the trucks only acts up now in over drive and only on a steady pull if you give more gas it doesn't get help or hurt but if it shifts down in passing gear its ok any help would be great thanks Josh
Just my two cents,change the plug wires and plugs while you at it.On my 86 winnie starts missing under load after 25k miles.On my engine the wires hang out from the holders non supported and flex as you drive down the road.If its the wires it will ping and pop on heavy load.I think they may break inside but usually still look good.I put a after market type wire holder on now but not many miles on them yet. Josh, you say a miss OR slip. Big difference. Does it seem like it could be the torque convertor lock locking or unlocking? The lock in most trans. only locks in overdrive for max. mileage. Rich
