No I think on your truck it will be on the side of the distrubitor.I guess you could think of it as a electronic set of points.It takes a special socket to remove it and don't pull it stright out or it will damage something.Socket is cheap or just loan one from parts store.I guess you have no spark when it gets hot??????If no spark it could be the coil.If you have one of those 12volt test probe you can touch the tack connection on the coil when cranking and see if the light flashes when cranking.Ford has had some problems with the module.If the light flashes the module is switching on and off. No light no voltage to the ground side of the coil.Check voltage into the coil.Light on all the time no switching of the module.You will need a chiltons manual or some diagrams for color of the wires on dist,Other problems can tell the Ign. not to fire spark.Bad senser or lose wire.
