Driving my V10 powered '99 H.R. from Ashton,ID to CA Bay Area last Nov. Had driven several hundred miles on I-5 at speed when engine suddenly quit. Took next exit. Engine restarted immediately. 77 mi farther,same thing,but every time I accelerated from
a stop,the engine sputtered. Pedaling the accelerator got me going. Two months later,headed for Las Vegas. No problem at first,but sputtering returned along with HARSH upshifts. I began shifting manually. Into L.V. Harsh shifting no matter what I did,and "blast" of air such as from compressor relief valve at every shift.
Getting ready to travel May 1. Any ideas out there? Thanks,Gary
I am trying to change the coolant, but find that I can only drain off About 16 qts. where as the manual says that the capacity is about 27 qts. How do I drain off the remaining coolant that must obviously be retained in the engine block? Help please!
Have a mechanic scan the computer for any stored codes.You are going to have to start somewhere.Just sounds like a fuel problem but only a guess.Could be lots of things.Good Luck MIKE
Driving along @ 57 MPH, the eng. just quit. Mannage to get to the side of the road, turned off the ignition, & then tried to start it. It started righ up, & had nor more trouble the rest of the trip. What happen?
