Has the radiator been flushed and pressure tested. Also put the factory spec.thermostat back in.Check the timing to see if its at factory specs.Have the clutch fan checked it may not be coming on when it gets up to temp. Also if the EGR is not working it will cause heating problem.Sometimes a mechanic will mess with timing trying to stop pinging becaues the EGR is not working right.A easy test to see if its working feel the back of the EGR where the diaphram is.rev up the engine to 2000 rpm or so and see if it moves. If its not moving have it checked with a vacuum hand pump. Don't think you need any air scoops when you get to the root problem.Chev.had most of there overheating problems cured by 85,86 Good Luck MIKE |
