OMG! We are planning to leave on a trip this coming Friday, 11/3/2006 and in preparation we found that the engine would not reach full operating temp. So we sent my 1988 Southwind P30 454 to the local radiator shop to get the thermostat changed and after it was finished the throttle cable started to bind. We thought "no problem" just get a new cable. NO WAY! We cannot find a replacement cable anywhere.
anyone know where I can get a cable overnighted? I am in deep DooDoo with my wife and I need a shovel, if you get my drift.
Glenn, I've used a universal (made to fit custom setups) automatic downshift cable in a pinch. They don't last as long as a throttle cable. But the outer houseing slides so it will fit allmost anything.
A well lubricated (with graphite) piece of steel brake tubing with an aircraft cable inside it will last a long time and can be obtained and made at your local hardware store.
