It's pretty strange, but after having an independent RV mech. tune my 454, change the oil and rebuild the carbm my 1986 Holiday began to knock withing a half mile of his shop. Upon returning the shop is telling me that I must have spun a bearing or thrown a rod and need a replacement. I am sick, but could use some advice verses going with a crate motor or a rebuilt one. They are advising me to have mine rebuilt at a local engine rebuilder and they will install it. $1,700 for the engine and $1,500 to install. Any advice?
