Firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Cylinders are numbered as follows. All referrences are from the driver's seat. Left bank of cylinders, numbered front to rear 1-3-5-7. Right bank of cylinders, numbered front to rear"2-4-6-8. MAKE Sure that #5 and #7 spark plug wires are as widely seperated from each other as possible, it's OK if they cross at right anles to each other, but DO NOT have them closely parallel to each other, else you risk damaging # 7 piston by electrical induction firing from #5 to #7 while #7 is on the compression stroke.
I have a 1989 pace arrow with a 454 engine. It has nopower going up hill.
I would like to covert it into a diesel pusher. Can this be done safely and what would this cost to convert?
Having problem with my 454 Chev Engine. I have a 1994 Winnebago Motor Home and after a basic mechanical brake and safety check it has started backfiring when it is under load, i.e. towing a car. Also it pings and backfires when going up hill without a toad. I have taken it to two different mechanics and they put the electronic analyser and cannot find anything the matter as it does not backfire. I filled the tank with fresh mid grade fuel as well. The mileage is only 21000 miles. Could it be the coil?
Any sugestions
