Hi I have a 99 GMC suburban with 80k miles on it. My sister bought it new and has had a lot of trouble with it. All of the fuel injection system has been replaced at on time or another, than they started replacing the EGR valve and O2 sensors, each item "fixed" the problem for a while, but nothing fixed it right. When I got it the dealer had trouble shot to the EGR valve(third one in less that 10k miles) so I put on a new one and added the Banks power pack ie. headers and exhasut system. It passed smog and ran great for a about two weeks, then "service engine soon light" and guess what it says? "EGR INPUT LOW", maybe the dealer can't read. I don't know, but the light is on and my milage is down and i don't know what to check. Thanks for any help you can offer

You can make a simple check for EGR operation by putting your finger on the back side of the EGR and feel the diaphram then have someone give it about half throtle, you should feel the diaphram move in.Don't know about your year but some of the newer cars need some back pressure for the EGR to work proper.Headers may have reduced the pressure.?? Check with a good GM tech about your year. Good Luck Mike
