I have a 1986 Allegro with a Chevrolet 454 engine which just recently started backfiring. It runs great at highway speeds, and without warning, feels like someone turns key off. Sometimes after a few seconds it will backfire out tailpipes and run fine again for a while. Other times, it does not come back on. When I turn the key to the off position and back to the on position, it then backfires out the tailpipes and runs fine again. I just replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, but no change. Any ideas? |
