When i go to accelerate or pass it starts to backfire . I have changed the plugs and wires, two fuel filters, rotar cap and button . It is on a 1987 cruise air 2 35' motorhome . I hadand exhaust leak at the manifold where the smog goes in the manifold and had them plugged could this be my promblem?
Did it do this before changing plugs and wires???

Had a 93 pace arrow with the 454, same miss at load and higher rpm..turned out to be weakened valve springs allowing the valves to float at higher rpm...only 2800+. diagnosis trick was to learn that the backfire was back into the intake plenum.
Changed Manual fuel pump and filter and problem seems to be gone.
