My 1978 Dodge class C with a 440 does not want to start if it sits more than a couple days. I just put in a rebuild cardurator but it made no difference. Seems like I don't see any fuel getting pumped when it has been sitting. Once it starts it runs fine, and if I start it everyday I have no problem starting. Fuel pump? But it runs fine once it starts so I'd think that would rule out a bad pump. Any ideas?

Ok. How hard does it start? I have to call a mechanic or I have to turn over for 15 seconds 4 or 5 times before it catches? The carb is alowing the fuel to evaporate and the fuel pump is not perfect and allows the fuel to drain back to the tank. I usually just use a little squeze bottle and fill the carb float bowl by removing the air cleaner and squirting down the bowel vent. If you want to "fix" this replace all the rubber lines from the tank to the carb, replace the fuel pump, closely inspect the steel fuel lines. That should get fuel pumped to the carb in the first few seconds of cranking. Good Luck
