I have replaced just about everything in this engine. Including the computer. I cannot get the engine to keep running...it shuts off when the accelerator is pressed. I have been working on this for serveral weeks and I cannot figure out what the problem is. Can someone out there help me with this...

1. your fuel pump is inside the tank & some engines have a separate one on right bottom corner of the engine
2. it's possible fuel filter stopped up---(on right side frame rail) rear of the steps.

Hello,

I would like to help you with your Fleetwood problem. I have been a certified "ASE" Master Technician for over 30 years and feel qualified to offer my advise.
Also I have recently purchased a 1994 Southwind myself and have gone over most of the engine systems. Should be very similar to your class A.

Ok lets get started. If your engine runs at idle it is very likely a fuel problem or a restricted exhaust problem. My guess is a bad "Catalytic Converter" this will let the engine start and idle but ANY throttle at all will cause so much back pressure it will die instantly. to check it out you can use a vacum gauge on the engine or separate the exhaust system just before the converter. Restart the engin and attempt to rev it up, It will be loud but if it revs up you found your problem. These GM pancake style converter are very prone to melting due to the extreme heat a Motorhome makes while accelerating..

Good Luck! feel free to email me with anyother questions...
