Timing marks ken 11-13-08  
When timing a 1987 454 class A home there is 2 timing plates one at 2 oclock and one at 4 oclock when timing @ 4 oclock seams like it is 90 degs off should it be timmed on another Cly. ?

In Rv, there is so much stuff in your way to get at the timing mark, it why there is one at 4 Oclock so you can time from under at 4 oclock with #8 cylinder.

Try # 5 wire to time using the 4 o.clock timing mark.
and plug the vacume hose to the distributor advance---a golf tee works great
rich in Va.
