I have bought a 1986 Winnebago Elandan Limited Edition. It has the 454 motor. I was wondering if anyone knew how the easiest way to remove the engine on this model. I need to put a crank kit in.
I don't know if it's the easiest way or not, I have a 1984 Winnebago. I pulled the the engine out through the front. Carb had to be removed as well as the radiator frame. It required a long reach engine lift with an arm that could go in level, not an angle, not a $99 special, the 454 cleared by about an inch. I cannot tell from a picture if you have the same clearance I did. This is not a job for the impatient, label everything, measure carefully and good luck
Thanks Richard, I pulled the motor this morning. I pulled it through the passenger door. Had to take off fan and pulley and on the rear the flywheel and it came out easily. Thanks for the reply. Hopefully after i measure the rods, I can get away with a crank kit. But probably not. Have a good day.
