I am going to do a tune up on my friends RV and I need to know what motor is in it. It's a 1978 Dodge Sportsman but the tags are completely gone. How do I know what size motor is in it? The local auto parts store can't seem to tell me.
Had a 79 Pace Arrow on a Dodge D50 chassis, the engine was a Dodge 440-3.
My manual is now gone and I cannot remember where to look on the engine to determine for sure which engine is installed. Maybe someone else has better information.
I have a 1978 dodge RV and I would like
to convert my fuel system. currently
it has a carburetor and i would like
to convert to fuel injection. my buddy
did it w/ his 1985 chevy so i know its
very possible. please give me some
feed back.
My understanding is that the -3 indicates a change in the route of the engine coolant. I think there is an extra passage for the coolant that routes the coolant through passages in the intake manifold. Therefore, the installation of another 440 intake manifold (without the passage) could cause overheating and failure of the engine.

My sportsman rv has the 318 v-8 in it and I'm having a hard time finding the vacume solenoid and the correct installation for it. Do you know where I can get this part and an owners manual for the rv?
