Removing engine from Apollo RV Doug Allinger 5-16-08
Due to a stuck and subsequently destroyed piston I am having to remove the engine, take it apart to flush and check.
1978 Apollo
Dodge v8 440 7.2

Does anyone have any suggestions for the best way to get the block out of an RV? It seems the front axle is directly below, the fiberglass body does not open in front.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I have seen the front "clip" cut off and re-installed. Ouch. Some of these you have to drop the ront crossmember suspension etc then drop the engine out the bottom. It sucks. Make sure you measure the hight of the engine plus suport before you jack the unit up. Good Luck
