My bounder seems to run fine in daytime or early evening, but early morning and night it does not want to throttle up. It seems to just die down, if I let off throttle it will idle then I can continue on till it does it again. seems like night air or moisture causes this problem. any help out there.

Very likely Ignition failure as you describe-IE-distributor cap and rotor even wires and possibey the coil--the coil has a ground strap on it---is it there.?..But you didn't say you have a "miss" -Have you also changed the fuel filter-

I have 86 Coachmen 454 with similar problems - starts, runs a while then just dies. Where is fuel filter? Does it have in-tank pump? There appears to be a soleniod energized by ignition switch that routes power to coil and distributor - could this be opening?

I have found this problem is mainly after the engine warms up. Have rebuilt distributor, still have problem

Rebuilt entire distributor, changed fuel filters, replaced fuel pressure regulator. This has a carb not TBI.

I have an 88 Fleetwood Bounder 454, approx 34-35' with GM Chassis and 22,000 original miles. It runs fuel out of line and then dies approx. within 30 seconds. I have pulled the 90 gal fuel tank, checked all lines, replaced fuel cap, both spin on filters (in carb and replaced diaphram and regulator valve towards rear). Also drilled 1/8" hole in cap to assist venting as recommended and am still having the same problems. I think I need to adjust the pressure regulating valve between tank and spin on filters but am unsure of how to do so. Can you assist me by letting me know the proper asjustment and way to adjust it? Also, would appreciate any information you can provide me on how to get a manual for the GM Chassis. Thank you.
