I just bought a 78 dodge allegro MH while driving it home it would start and drive great and after about a mile or two it would just die no back fire no surge..
i just acted like it would if it were to run out of gas (i know this from experience) so i would pull over and start it and would drive then, same thing.. well after about 3 hours of this i finally hit rush our traffic and i thought oh freaking great... but low and behold at 25 mh it did not die so when i got on the one lane road i ran 15 to 20 mph and with a train of cars behind me i got it home... so now i dont know were to start.. any ideas
thanks Robert
Sorta sounds like a restriction either in your fuel filter(s) or a weak fuel pump.Could also be a dirty carb too cause at low speeds not much fuel is required but engine isnt getting enough fuel to run at higher rpm's
