My 2001 Dometic AC, Penguin, model 620415.321, Serail# 03619489, Product # 991721731 came on while in the off position. With in several seconds the breaker blows. As the AC unit trys to come on it sounds like it only has half power coming to it. It kicks the breaker out several seconds later. I turned it on an off several other times. Breaker kicks out each time. It sounds like the circuit board has gone bad. Any comments?
Let me restate my question. My AC compressor tried to come on while the wall mounted thermostat control was in the "OFF" position. Not the fan, just the compressor tried to come on then triped breaker. After several attempts of reseting breaker, the unit startd to work properly. I'm hearing from other sources that I may have a defective relay in the units circuit board. relays are cheap compared to a new board. To get technical, I have three Simens relays on my board. My plan is to replace the faulty relay once I can figure which one of them controles the compressor. I don't have a schamtic that would identify the relay. I can supply pictures and board numbers if anyone has knowledge in this field. Thanks.
