P30 in the dark Glenn 9-28-04
This weekend my family traveled from our home in Traverse City Mi to Madison Wi in our 1988 Fleetwood Southwind motorhome. We pulled our Saturn Sw for transport at outr destination. Everything went well on the way to Wi, but on the way back well, that is another story!

We left our campgrounds in the early morning and used the lghts for about 3 hrs. Somewhere in that 3 hr period I lost the headlights, dash lights, stop lights and lighter.

I tend to believe we lost a fusible link somewhere. I checked the individual fuses on the fuse panel for the stop lights and turn signals and they checked fine with my ohm meter. I checked voltage on the panel and got 0vdc.

I do not know where to look for the problem, perhaps one of you experts can give me some sagfe advice. The chassis is a 1988 Chevy P30 under a 1988 motorhome.

Thanks

Glenn

BTW I also had a tire blow out later in the trip just to spice things up a little. Not to mention driving thru Chicago traffic with no Brake or turn signals :<

Using a test light start at the starter,(make sure the connection is clean & snug) & poke trough the insulation of those 3 red wire to see if there is power to it, one feed the light, one the block connection on the firewall, one the alternator.

Thanks for the tip on the location and function of the three fusible links. They were right where you said they where and as a result I located the problem. I found a "skinned" wire that probably touched ground which resulted in the toasted link.

Thanks for the expert advice you guys are terrific.

Glenn
