I have a 1991 Lumina APV,runs good at first, but after about 30 min. it stalls out when I stop. It starts back up,but when I shift into gear it stalls out. I have to hold my foot on gas and shift in gear to pull off, once I get going it runs ok. Anyone know what the problem might be?
Open the hood... looking down into the engine compartment (to the right side behind the radiator), you will see the top of the tranny. A flashlight will come in handy. Look very carefully in this area (way down) and you should see a clip (usually light blue in color) there will be several wires stemming from the clip (mine had 2 wires).
Unclip the clip carefully not to break it as the actual portion that holds it in place is on the underside of the blue clip.
Disconnect and drive it (van) around... Let us know the results.
I've a 91 lumina APV 3.1 motor starts and runs fine, a high idle when first started but idles down after a few, but a soon as you put in gear, drive or reverse it stalls, I put in low one and it stayed running but had no power, can't figure it out, checked all the vacuum lines and electrical connectors, every thing looked fine, can you help..
