I have 2 of these furnaces that are in an '86 Vogue. They appear to be manufacturer installed. Problem is neither one is consistent on providing heat. At times both units will activate but the LP will not ignite. LP does not flow but the fan continues to run until you manually turn off. Technician advised that these units had been recalled but I can find no reference to this. Any ideas?
We had two of these furnaces replaced by RV vendor (at his expense) after we had already purchased a pre-owned unit, as they pose a serious risk of carbon monoxide exposure.
Due to a design problem, the combustion chamber has a tendency to crack resulting in carbon monoxide leaking into the RV galley.
We only became aware of this problem when we took our RV in to have the propane system certified and were informed that, unless the furnaces were replaced the decal could not be updated.
2/26/2007 We just acquired a 1986 Prowler Travel Trailer (30') with a Duo-therm 90130-001. We have a problem in that the fan will activate but there is no ignition. Also, not turning off until thermostat is adjusted down as far as possible. We are looking for parts or a remedy and would appreciate any bits of info. anyone has currently on this appliance. After reading the comments on some sort of recall and also the design flaw, crack in housing, being identified as a significant carbon monoxide leak, we are now very concerned about finding out as much as possible re: same----Thanks, 97titangecko
We recently perchased a 1986 Winnebago with a duo therm 90130-001 that works just great. Should I still be concerned? We have a carbon monoxide detector in the RV.
I too have a 1986 Prowler with a 90130-001 duotherm furnace. My blower motor went out and I am looking for one. During my search I found your message about a recall and I now have concerns. Can you give me any further details. I can't find anything about it.
Thanks
