Hi-
I have a 92 Bounder Class A and I am experiencing a problem with getting my 12 volt coach items from working. I haave checked the batterys and there's fine. I removed the large fuse panel on the front of the engine bay and they too are getting juice. However, when I go back to my fuse panel inside the living area, I located a fuse panel with 3 red 14 guage wires. They label this the 12 volt fuse panela dn there are 8 or so 20amp fuses that go to Micro, living room, tv, etc. I do not appear to be getting a juice to that, as I hooked a voltmeter to the red and a ground. This may be my problem, but how do I access the point betwen the engine bay and this panel. Is there typically afuse that is between that I can check. It looks as though eveything runs internallly through the coach. Thank Dean Pick
Dean,
Are you still having this problem? I too have a 92 Bounder with this problem. It looks as though when I am hooked up to 120vac all my 12vdc stuff works. But I am not getting 12vdc to the camper batteries to charge them. In return, if my Generator is not running and I am not hooked to 120vac, my 12vdc system is inoperative. I am researching what might be wrong right now, I'll let you know if I find out. If you already fixed yours what was the problem?
Dave
Hi Dean,
I just found this forum today, but I'll jump right in. I'm not familiar with Bounders, but this sounds like a generic problem.
First, the fuse (or breaker?) panel inside the living area that indicates Microwave, TV, etc. must be 120 VAC, not 12 VDC from the battery.
Power to your inside 12 VDC equipment such as water pump, lights, etc come from the house batteries that may not be in the engine compartment.
Regards, Dick
I also have an intermittent problem with the "coach" 12V system in my 28' 1993 Bounder RV. It works fine as long as the generator is running or I'm plugged into AC power. However, if I'm using the batteries, after about 10-15 minutes of use the lights will dim and and then after another 30-60 seconds go completely out. The outage will last for 2-3 minutes and then the 12V power returns. Everything will be fine for another 10-15 minutes and then the lights dim and go out again. Any ideas about what might be happening here ??? Jamie
We have 1999 32H wide body Bounder with
vehicle battery problems. After sitting for days plugged in the vehicle battery will start the engine. If let run for
twenty minutes and shut off the vehicle
battery will not start the engine...just
the start solenoid rapid clicks. A boost start using the "Aux Battery" switch always works to get engine going again.
Were do all the wires go on the positive end, i know that one goes to the starter, but there is one that says its a fusable link, i know it goes to the fuse box but were at. can u please email me with a answer or maybe even a diagram
I recently got an '88 Dutchmen trailer, plugged it in to shore and everything was fine. I plugged in a vacuum cleaner to clean up. The vacuum seemed weak and I only used it about a minute. From that moment on none of my 12VDC stuff works (lights, blower, stove fan etc.). All fuses and breakers are fine. From these responses it seems a problem with the converter. But I don't know what/where it is. My breaker/fuse box almost reads like it's built in to the breaker/fuse box.
