I recently purchased a 2001 Windstar with 25K miles. Added the hitch and wiring to pull a small 2000lb tent camper. The power saver on the van turns the trailer lights ON after 1/2 hour (like when stopping to eat). Both Ford and Hoppy say that the trailer must be unplugged every time you stop. I would guess that I can add an ignition switched relay to disable the trailer converter, but don't want to compound the problem. Ford is of no help.
I recently installed the hoppy wiring harness on my 2002 windstar. I came with a warning that the lights would come on and the trailer should be disconned, but it doesn't happen. It has a relay hanging off of it and I wonder if hoppy hasn't solved the problem, but still has the warning in the instructions.
I recently purchased a 2001 Ford Windstar with 36,000 miles. I have one problem, the fuse to the power seat keeps blowing when the seat is moved all the way forward. The motor, track and switch has been replaced. Are there any stop adjustments? Any recommended solutions?
