I HAVE A 1978 DODGE 440 ITASCO MOTORHOME THAT I RECENTLY PURCHASED. I'M GOING OVER THE ENTIRE UNIT, TUNE UP AND FLUID CHANGES AND SUCH,JUST GIVING IT SOME MUCH NEEDED TLC, WHEN I DISCOVERED THAT THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR ON THE FIREWALL HAD BEEN LEAKING THAT EPOXY FILLER THAT THEY USE ON THE BACK SIDE TO SEAL THE UNIT.I DOUBLE CHECKED THE AMP GUAGE TO SEE IF IT WAS CHARGING PROPERLY AND IT WAS.BUT, BECAUSE I'M A LITTLE LEARY ABOUT THAT FAILING WHILE ON THE ROAD, I DECIDED TO CHANGE IT OUT AND HANG ON TO THE OLD ONE AS A SPARE. I PUT THE NEW V-REG ON AND NOW IT'S NOT CHARGING. PUT THE OLD ONE BACK ON, IT WORKS. GOT ANOTHER, THINKING IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A DEFECTIVE UNIT AND THE SECOND ONE WILL NOT CHARGE.THEY SAY THIRD TIME THE CHARGE,BUT I'M WANDERING WHAT IS THE DEAL, 2 DEFECTIVE V-REG. HIGHLY UNLIKELY BUT POSIBLE I SUPPOSE. THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE BOX STATED NOT TO POLORIZE V-REG. CAN ANYONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS AND EDUCATE ME. THANKS IN ADVANCE,JEFF
