Hi... i have a 88 ranger 4x4.. its got the 2.9L V6 with a 5 speed trans...
i have been having problems with this thing for a couple months now.. i can drive this thing and out of no where the thing will just shut off without any warning... i turned the key and couldn't here the fuel pump kick on so i went and bought a new fuel pump on it... we got it in and it started up and rna great... so i drove it and it did ok, but then again, it shut off and you can't hear the fuel pump... i was told it could possibly be the ignition module?... anyone think thats the problem? if so where is the module located at?
Definetly sounds like either a module
or magnetic pickup in the distributor.
The module is either fender mounted
or if it is a tfi type it is on the distributor
