I was driving our 1978 Dodge motorhome and it was running great when it died. It was like somebody just reached over and turned the key off,it didnt sputter or anything it just stopped running.I replaced the router and cap, the ignition coil, and the ballast resistor. The carb. is getting gas and it turns over just fine. The motor is a 440, what could it be? please reply.
So is there power to the coil? Use a test light to check, does the light flicker when you crank the engine? If there is no power the ignition box could be bad or the power supply (ignition switch) could be bad, if the light does not flicker it is either the pickup or the module. Good Luck
