I have a 1979 itasca suncruiser that i recently bought and found out the altenator was i bad. i replaced it and the new one i put in burned out right away. all the wiring in the fuse box is a mess also. i am looking to find out what could cause this problem and where i can get a wiring diagram for the engine wiring of the motorhome.
OK the engine wiring diagram will be available from the chassiss manufacturer. Dodge Chev, ford John Deere. Freight liner etc or you can probably find one from haynes or chilton for the same year Van or Pickup and it will be close. It sounds like the alternator is going full feild and burning itself out any way. Good Luck
Bubba, the altenator is burning out as soon as you start up the engine. do you think it is a possibility that i may have a bad ground somewhere. like i said before also the fuse panel for the engine side of things is really rigged up, they added inline fuses everywhere.
