You are the man! Tyhe orinigal post is below, but your input on my propane detector.
I checked it out, I guess I had cut a ground wire to it when I was doing something else. The unit works BUT still no propane. Is there a way I can test the solenoid? I don't want to send it 12 volts if it doesn't take that much.
Also, if I can't get the solenoid to open I want to remove it, doesn't look too hard, any tips?
And ONE more, if I replace everything what is the units you usue now?
THANKS for all your help!
Hi
My propane detector light is off and the detector will not go on. Because of this my fridge is off too. I checked the fuse to the detector and it is OK.
This is my first RV and I have had it for a few weeks. I don't trust the inside electronic LP gauge, it hasn't budged, saying full. I can't read the glass one on the tank.
I was thinking, maybe it is out of propane and that shuts off the detector?
I just don't want to rip up the inside detector if I should try something else first.

Re: propane detector stopped. Is it due to no propane? BUBBA THE BUS TECH 7-9-09
On some units the LPG detector controls the flow of LPG from the LPG tank. If the LPG detector won't turn on it wont allow LPG to any appliance. We rip out this system and replace it with something modern. If the the system does not have a shut off switch on the LPG detector it is not this type. The LPG detector controls the LPG but the LPG detector does not have any way to know if there is LPG in the system. So does the system have 12 v power. Does the stove light? Good Luck
