Propane detector stopped. Is it due to no propane?

Propane detector stopped. Is it due to no propane? by mike

Hi My propane detector light is off and the detector will not go on. Because of this my fridge is off too. I checked the fuse to the detector and it is OK. This is my first RV and I have had it for a few weeks. I don't trust the inside electronic LP gauge, it hasn't budged, saying full. I can't read the glass one on the tank. I was thinking, maybe it is out of propane and that shuts off the detector? I just don't want to rip up the inside detector if I should try something else first.
