Converter box for a 2003 Pioneer by Fleetwood Kristi 7-6-09
The air & lights went out on my RV, but the stove & outlets still work. Does anyone know where the converter box might be located, what it looks like & once located what might be the problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The converter is a grey or silver magic box mounted in a cubby hole usually near the 12 volt fuses and and 120 breakers. It is probably mounted behind the fuse panel but may be under the floor of a closet or under the stove or even in the cold air return for the furnace. Inside the little blind compartment it may be mounted behind plumbing and hanging from the roof or side wall. In some trailers of this vintage I am convinced someone at the factory made it as hard as posible to access this item. To test, It will have a plug in cord. Unplug it and plug in something else, Works ok next find the fuses on the converter. It may have to be dismounted for this. Are they good? If bad replace and plug in. 12 volt power? if no you need to check to see if there is battery power at the converter, if no there is a fuse or breaker near the battery that will need to be checked. If yes we need to replace the converter. Short term help you can put a 6 or 10 amp cheapo battery charger on the battery and get every thing running again just rember that the converter provides 45 amps and the charger will only provide 6 or 10. run AC and a couple lights or run furnace and one light. Run fridge on 120 v or LPG only! Good Luck
