Just got a 1985 fleetwood jamboree, ford 350 chassis. Most stuff works fine.
It has some minor electrical problems that I want to work out over time.
Here are some questions I have now:
Where is the 110AC fuse fanel? I would expect to see the 110V cable and generator meeting up somewhere to a fuse panel. There's alot of amps!
Where and how does the switching take place from 110v wire to 100v generator?
Where is the coach's 12V fuse panel? I would think that the van's 12v fuses are not used for all the coach's 12v lighting cigarette sockets and fans. I would assumme that a 12v supply comes off the coach battery and goes to this panel.
I am OK with house wiring and car wiring, just need some help on this new RV wiring!
There is most likly a 110 volt breaker box just like a house somewhere. In older units it is hidden in a cupboard asa it aint pretty. The 12 volt fuses are generally grouped together, for a while Fleetwood liked to put them behind a door over the toilet. I don't know if yous is one of these. On newer units the 110 and 12 fuses are grouped together. On older units they are seperated. Again 1985 I just don't know. If your jenset powers the unit automaticly it has a auto change over switch. Usually you start the genset and 30 to 45 sec later the genset starts powering the unit. If it is not automatic look for a lever type switch mounted in a cupboard near the generator or where the shore power cable comes into the unit. Finally there are a bunch of units out there you start the generator and plug the power cord into the generator. Good Luck
